There must be sometimes when you need to combine some MP4 videos into a single video or split a large MP4 file into several parts. This article here will tell you how to merge MP4 and split MP4 with an all-in-one MP4 merger and splitter.
The recommended program is Aimersoft Video Converter Ultimate. With it, you are able to get all the work done with no hassle. In addition to joining and splitting MP4 files, this program also allows you to edit videos and convert all regular formats, such as MP4, AVI, WMV, MOV, FLV, MKV, MP4, WMA, etc. fast yet with high output quality. If you are using a Mac, get the equivalent Mac version called Aimersoft Video Converter Ultimate for Mac.
Download MP4 Merger and Splitter:
After downloading, install and run the program, then follow the guide below to join or split your MP4 videos with ease. Note that this guide uses Video Converter Ultimate for Windows (Windows 8 compatible) version screenshots. The way to merge MP4 video files and split MP4 files on Mac is the same. Just make sure you get the right version according to your situation.
Part 1: How to merge MP4 files
Click Add Files to load the MP4 videos to the program. Or you can first locate your videos and then directly drag them to the program. As you can see, you can also load DVD files to rip.
Select "Merge into One File" and choose an output format from the drop-down menu of "Output Format" and also choose a proper destination folder from the drop-down list of "Output Format". When all is OK, click the "Convert" button to start joining multiple MP4 files into a big one.
Part 2: How to split MP4 files
Run the program and add your MP4 files to the program by clicking the Add Files button. Then select a video clip and click Edit button and you can split the video into multiple segments by setting the start time and end time or simply moving the sliders.
After the editing of the video, you need to select a proper destination folder to save your split files. When all necessary settings are OK, all you need to do is clicking the "Convert" button to get the MP4 file split.
Splitting: By splitting, you can chop a single video file into small segments so that you can extract or duplicate some specific scenes. The small clips can be change into GIF (Graphic Interchange Format) and upload to internet to share with your friends.
Joining: After joining, you can merge several videos into one file. For example, when you have downloaded a long movie in 4 smaller parts, a joiner will put all the parts back together again. However, this only happens on the condition that all the video files have a similar format (same resolution, bit rate and more).
I am using the demo version only at this time. When I convert a DVD, main movie only, to a MP4 my media player displays 6 files. Is that due to the demo software, media player, the way it is going to be, ??? I am prepared to purchase the software if it can truely produce a single file viewed as a single file by my media player (Sony TV).
Hello, Desiree. Aimersoft Video Converter Ultimate can surely fulfill you needs. Download the trial version to test it now!
I have been having some issues trying to find a program that will take a mp4 video split it and just resave that portion as a mp4. All the ones I have tried want you to reconvert the split portion into a mp4 format making the process even longer than just splitting it. I just want to take the mp4, import it, cut it, and save that portion of the mp4 video. That's it, no conversions to different formats. I tried YAMB but it makes the video stutter and I can't use Avidmux because I am running Windows 7. Any advice?? Does this software do just that?
Hi, eleni, thanks for your interest in Aimersoft products. For your case, please first check what video formats your media centre supports. And then import all the videos into Aimersoft Video Converter Ultimate, select Merge into One File to merge all the videos. After that, select a format your media centre supports as the output format. (Converting the videos to ISO is quite time-consuming, so you can turn to other formats instead.)
Could you advise how to easily take mpg4 files and put them in a format for playing on through a media centre. Currently I need to merge then burn onto a DVD and then create a .iso file which is very time consuming. I just got a new camcorder but am kind of wishing I had the old technology that just merged all the clips one after the other.
Not only a MP4 merger, splitter, but more: converter, trimmer, rotator, etc. Nice to find such a program!
