Are you looking for a good iTunes music app for managing your song library? If you’re someone that dislikes chaos or someone who needs everything to be laced up, then what you’re looking for is a good ID3 Tag Manager. There are a bunch of different apps and programs that can help you do this — and we’re going to be showing you 11 of them. Scroll down and see if you can find one that will work for you and your needs.
To start off this iTunes Music app exploration. We’re going to be introducing you to our favorite iTunes Music organizer, called iMusic. This is a good program to use if you’re big when it comes to making sure that all your songs are tagged and appropriately marked. Which is helpful not only because it has much better aesthetics but also because you’ll know that you will always be able to find the songs that you want to listen to when you want to listen to it. The main key feature of this highly versatile software includes:
In order to edit your song’s ID3 Tags with a program like iMusic, you need to first find the library manager. For iTunes, that shortcut button is right at the top of the window (circled in the image below), second to the left, called ITUNES LIBRARY!
This is the page where you can view all the contents of your iTunes library, and it will act as a ‘bridge’ so that all the changes you make here, will be applied to your actual iTunes library as well.
Next, select the song that you want to edit the tags of from the list, right-click it, and then choose the Edit Music Info option when it appears on your screen (like you see in the image below.)
A sidebar should now have appeared on the right-hand side of your window (you can see it shown in the image below.) This is where you’ll be able to edit your song’s ID3 Tags.
Tip: You’ll notice that all the changes that you make will be applied immediately (be it the title, artist, album, genre, etc.)
Now, even if you see that your changes have been applied, it is still important that you click the Save button. This is to ensure that none of your work is undone!
Up next, we have 10 other iTunes Music App organizers that might interest you. Now, most of these will not be as advanced or feature-rich as iMusic. Why is that? Well, it’s primarily because they were made specifically to be used for the purpose of managing and organizing your music (unlike iMusic, which is multi-functional.) That’s not to say that these apps are no good but expect there to be a bit of a difference because these will be primarily FREE and open-source.
Before we proceed, we’re going to be starting with our list of Music Apps that you can use for your Mac/Windows computer first! If that’s not what you’re looking for, then you can scroll down to see our breakdown of the best mobile music apps for organizing your iTunes music below.
Price: FREE
Platform: Windows
For our first music app, we have the TagScanner. This is a Windows-only program that will allow you to update/add tags to your music (with many of the most common audio formats accepted.) It also has the automatic metadata collection tool that will allow you to quickly and efficiently grab information from the net for you to use for organizing your songs. Add to that the fact that it is 100% FREE, and you got yourself a pretty good winner!

Price: FREE
Platform: Windows
With our next ‘tag-scanner’ program, we have the MP3 tag software. This program, much like the one that came before it, we have another software that is made specifically for editing audio metadata. That means that you won’t get a lot of fancy extra features, but it is pretty advanced for a Music Organizer. Much like with TagScanner, you’ll be able to look up tags from the net as well for simplifying the process and taking away a lot of the work from your hands.

Price: FREE
Platform: Windows, Mac, and Linux
With MusicBrainz’s Picard software, we get another FREE tag editing software (although this one is available not just for Windows, but Mac and Linux computers as well!) The difference between this software and the others, is the fact that it is better known as a batch-editor. What does that mean? Well, that means that whilst you can use it for editing songs one at a time, its interface was created more for editing full albums or actual song collections.

Price: FREE
Platform: Windows
You might realize this from the screenshot below, but the Metatogger is designed differently from all the other tag-editing programs we’ve discussed thus far. BUT, somehow, it’s not completely unfamiliar. Why? Well, it was actually designed with one of Microsoft’s old interfaces (which is something you’ll need to install by the way, before you’re able to use it properly.) What can this program do for you as a music organizer? Well, it does a lot of the same thing that other programs we’ve discussed so far do — manual editing and online lookup tools are both available here as well.

Price: FREE
Platform: Windows
Much like with our third pick on this list we have another ‘batch-editor’ with TigoTago. That means that this is better used for batch editing (be it entire albums or collections.) Of course, it does offer the usual manual tag editing tools as well as the online lookup tools (which will allow you to automatically add the usual tag information as well as the proper track orders — which is not something that you get with just any editor.) It’s definitely not a bad software — even if it is our last pick, and it’s just as FREE and open-source as the rest of them!

Now that we’ve gone through all the computer programs that we have to recommend, we have another five music apps. This time, they will specifically be used for your Android (and sometimes iOS) mobile devices.

Platform: iOS & Android
Price: FREE
Even if you’re not an iOS user, iTunes has now made it possible for you to gain access to the Apple Music store! This is through their Apple Music app. Now, the price of this app is technically FREE, but it isn’t really something that you can use unless you have an Apple Music account (which is a PAID subscription-based service.) With this app, even though it isn’t really a tag editor, it is still a great mobile app for organizing your music library.

Platform: Android
Price: FREE (Contains Ads & In-App Purchases)
Okay, with the Automatic Tag Editor? We’re back to our music organizing apps. It’s actually one of the most highly rated (and downloaded) tag editing apps on the Android Play Store, which says a lot about its dependability. A warning, much like most FREE apps, it does contain a lot of ads that tend to just pop-up while you’re working (which can get really frustrating after a while.) However, it does have a lot of the same functionalities that you see in the computer tag editors we introduced just now. That means that you can automatically look up tags for your song and even manually edit and add the tags yourself - it’s very multi-versatile!

Cons:

Platform: Android
Price: FREE (Contains Ads & In-App Purchases)
For our third music app for Android, we have the Star Music Tag Editor. This is the second highest rated on the Android Play Store, and it has received some mixed reviews. Now, a lot of people seem to enjoy it for editing tags — the interface that it offers is fairly straightforward and it’s clean, which is nice when you’re working on such a small surface. It also offers a lot of the usual options — automatic online lookup, manual editing, etc. (for album covers, names, artists, albums, lyrics, etc.)

Cons:

Platform: Android
Price: FREE (In-App Purchases)
The AutoTagger is our fourth recommended Android app for organizing your music, and — as you can guess from the name, it’s one that you can use for automatically tagging your songs. A note, it’s not as feature-rich as the other programs on this list. Not necessarily because of the tools (it does a lot of the normal things — auto tagging, manual tagging, etc.), but because of its limited audio format support. Which, at the time of writing this article, it only really supports MP3, MP4, and FLAC audio files.
Pros:
Cons:

Platform: Android
Price: FREE (Contains Ads)
For our last recommended iTunes Music App, we have the ID3Fixer. Now, with this mobile app, in particular, you really cannot expect too much. It does work, of course, it can be used for manually editing your song tags. However, the tools that it provides for this are very basic. So, you shouldn’t expect anything too fancy (which makes sense, as it is a 100% FREE product — although it does contain Ads.)

Cons:
That’s all we have for our 11 most recommended music apps for 2019! Now, before we end this completely, let’s take a final look at the main features of all the programs that we discussed and how they differ from one and the other! There’s an obvious quality shift here – between iMusic and the rest of the iTunes organizers that we introduced. That is why, in the end, iMusic is our favorite.

Conclusion: As you can see, there are many (many) different iTunes Music Apps available in the market. Each of the programs we mentioned today you can definitely use if all you’re looking for is just a quick little ‘tag’ editing session. However, if you want something a little bit more than that, then try out the first program that we mentioned — iMusic. The iMusic software can do pretty much all the things that the rest of the programs we introduced can, and then some. It’s considered a ‘premium’ product for a reason, and it’s made for your utmost convenience.Try it out for yourself! A FREE trial is available on the iMusic website.
