1. Import your video files
Run the program and click Import Media Files Here to add the video clips into the User's Album. You can also drag your video to the program from the local hard drive.
2. Crop your video file
Drag the video clip from media library to the Timeline Panel. Double click the clip to access to the Edit box and then click Crop. Alternatively, you can also right click on the mouse and select Crop.
In the left preview window, the video clip before editing is presented. You can crop the video manually by dragging the box to adjust the cropping rectangle, or crop it automatically by keeping the cropping area in 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio.
Before generating the cropped video, preview it in the right window to make sure you have got what you want. Then click OK to confirm your choice.
3. Export the cropped video
After previewing, click Export to save the edited video. If you prefer to export the cropped video to your portable device like iPad, iPhone, click Device. If you'd like to choose your desired output format and save your creation to local PC or laptop, just click Format. You can even directly share it on YouTube and Facebook from the application or burn it to DVD disc to watch on TV.

1. Import your source video
After running Video Editor for Mac, you then need to load the file that you want to crop. You have two ways to achieve the goal: One is to click the Import button located on the top right corner of the interface. The other is to directly drag the file to the program from your Mac.
2. Crop the video as you wish
The added video will be listed in the Resource Library. You need to drag the target file to the Timeline Panel from the Resource Library. Click the Edit button to activate the Edit box and then hit the Crop tab to start cropping your video.
Adjust the cropping rectangle in the left window to resize the video picture. Then view the real-time result in the right Preview window. If you are satisfied with the crop, you can then go to the next step.
3. Output the video after cropping
Click the Export button on the middle of the interface, then you can access to multiple options for output:

Click Formats to save the video to local hard drive with any format you prefer;

Click Devices to convert the video to fit your portable devices to watch anywhere you like;

Click YouTube or Vimeo to upload the video to YouTube from the application for more sharing.
The preview is too small and I can't zoom in, so it's not possible to crop the video exactly by pixels. How can I do that?
You can't save the cropped video - it only allows fixed resolutions which will return the letterbox. So although you can crop it to a square video the save file will be 1440x1080 or 1920x1080 or whatever rectangular resolution you pick. Waster 30 minutes with the software.
I was wondering how you did that! I hate those side bars, and also sometimes when I film videos I get something weird in the background I wanna crop out.
